Penopoly at the Ohio Pen show

Penopoly at the Ohio Pen show

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

This year I was fortunate enough to go to the Ohio Pen Show for the first time. The show covered two ballrooms and the connecting hallway. As everyone says the Ohio show caters to more to vintage pens and pen collectors. Unlike the DC show the parts, tools and supplies did not disappear on the public days. The Ohio show is a great place to go if you want to go beyond buying nice pens.

Penopoly was there for three days. Roger had his full inventory along with Penscape pens. We also did a brisk business of buying, selling and trading pens. A lot of the prime items like a Parker 51 set with solid gold caps only lasted a few hours. We did bring home an Omas Irael 50th anniversary set and a very nice Pelikan fountain pen. I will have pics of these items later this week.

On Sunday we were interview by the local paper, the Columbus Dispatch. On Monday we found we were mentioned several times in the article. Here is a link to the article Taking Pen in Hand published on Mon Nov 8. We were mentioned as having the most expensive pen at the show which was the Lominchay Nine Dragons jade pen.

Denise Juliani was show painting a Penscapes Pen. Roger donated the Red Cardinal pen done by Denise for the Sunday afternoon grand door prize.

Our next shows will be Philadelphia in January and the LA show in February. Come see us!
