Two Montblanc collections!

The coollections (intentional typo) are coming in right and left! Here’s an example fountain pen collection:

1. Montblanc Alexandre Dumas – sealed (son, wrong signature – his FATHER wrote The Three Musketeers and other works – research error at MB that makes for an interesting collectible!)
2. Montblanc Friedrich Schiller – sealed
3. Montblanc Oscar Wilde – Sealed
4. Montblanc Ramses II (solid gold with a beautiful lapis lazuli cap in 146 size)

The second collection looks like this:

We’re looking for buyers for each of these collections as a complete set. If they doesn’t move in LA (!), they will be for sale individually (although, as always, the best deal is as a collection!).

Visconti Dante’s Divine Comedy

The Divine Comedy (or Divina Commedia, in Italian) was written by Dante Alighieri between 1308 and his death in 1321. It may very well be the preeminent work of Italian literature. His poem’s imaginative and allegorical vision of the afterlife is a culmination of the medieval world-view as it had developed in the Western Church.

This pen was designed as an homage to Dante’s work. The focus of the pen is its body, with a scrimshaw perfectly executed by artists. Scrimshaw is the old art of hand cutting ivory and filling the engraved area with a special ink. The design reminds us of Dante’s descriptive journey into Hell and Purgatory. In contrast, its cap symbolizes Paradise with its angel-shaped clip and delicate ornaments. The vintage (circa 1960′s) celluloid material is no longer available.

The pen is fitted with a fine 18k nib, and is filled via the unique Visconti patented Double Reservoir system, which accommodates up to seven times the amount of ink other pens hold, yet allows the owner to travel with complete peace of mind. The unusually short cap allows the reservoir to be fully visible behind the decorative metal trim even when the pen is capped, so there is no need to unscrew the cap to check the level of ink.

The outer box is leather, designed to remind us of Dante’s bookbound work. It contains the pen, a lithography of the artwork and the manufacturer’s guarantee printed on handmade paper, and a metal bas relief executed expressly for Visconti, representing Dante’s image.

Visconti Supernatural Creatures

The Visconti Limited Edition Supernatural Creatures series includes the Dragon and Phoenix (2004), Ogres (2005), Anubi (2005), and Pegasus and Chimera (2005). These pens were manufactured from Celluloid and decorated in the Maki-e style. This series was limited 188 pieces of each pen, and presented here is a matched set numbered 109/188. They are fitted with medium 18k nibs, and are filled via the Visconti Double Reservoir Power filling system.

These pens are provided in their own cases with papers and outer boxes. The display case is also included.

Purchased separately, these pens sell for over $40,000.

Visconti Gold Ripple

Offered here is the Visconti Gold Ripple fountain pen. It is from a limited edition of 199 pieces, and features a clear resin demonstrator barrel with a solid 18k gold overlay. This pen features an 18k broad nib, and is fitted with Visconti’s patented double reservoir filling system.

Visconti Gordian Knot

The Visconti Metropolis Collection, including this example, takes its inspiration from the soaring skyscrapers and bustling pace of the city. This pen has a modern six-sided design with clean lines and a bold shape that gives you both urban chic and practical, comfortable writing. The mechanics of the pen are unique with its retractable fountain pen nib. Designed by Visconti, this retractable “safety” system pen has a perfect built-in mechanical piston filler. The push-and-turn filling mechanism has over 30 components that operate with dependability and ease. A safety cap makes it impossible to close the pen if the nib is not retracted.

This pen is solid gold and has a 18kt gold nib. 188 pieces were produced.

Presented here is a Visconti Blue Ripple fountain pen. The blue metal outer body surrounds a “cracked ice” style acrylic body. It is fitted with a fine 18k gold nib, and is filled via the Visconti power filler system.

Visconti Divina Black Oversize

This near mint Visconti Divina Black Oversize fountain pen features black resin inlaid with solid silver trim. It is fitted with a fine 14k gold nib, and features a retractable piston filling system. Particularly interesting is the cam-lock system to secure the cap (requires less than a quarter turn to remove the cap, yet holds it securely).
